About These Photos and
Ordering Information

The photos on this site were taken by me, Craig Fifer, on the Ayelet Birthright Israel Tour from January 4-15, 2001. You have my permission to download and copy these photos for your personal use. Any other use requires my permission. To download a photo, right-click (Windows) or hold down the mouse button (Macintosh) on the photo and choose save.

If I get the time, I'll add captions to these photos and apply color correction and red-eye removal. For now, I hope they bring back many happy memories. I had a great time, and I am grateful to have had so many photogenic people on the trip. If you took photos you'd like to share, I'd be happy to post them online here. Just send me some e-mail.

I have not included the high-resolution versions of these photos on this web site due to size. The high resolution version is best for printing, so if you want one just let me know and I'll e-mail it to you. You can also get this entire web site, plus the high-resolution versions, on a handy CD. All I ask is $5 (20 shekels) to cover the cost of the CD and shipping. With the CD, you also don't have to worry about slow Internet connections. Just click the button below to purchase a CD using a credit card now. I highly recommend PayPal, which allows you to send and receive money online using your checking or credit card account. If you'd rather not use PayPal, you can mail a check to me at 3736 Heritage Road, Roanoke, VA 24015-4518.

I can also print photos for you with my Epson photo printer. Just e-mail me the numbers of the photos you want (eg. 1247, 1438), and whether you want 4x6 or 8x10 for each. The cost is 45 cents for 4x6 and 95 cents for 8x10, which includes shipping. I assure you that I am not not making any money off the CD or the prints. I have to buy CDs, labels, ink, photo paper, envelopes, and postage. I'm making this stuff available at my cost.

The photos on this site were shot with a Canon PowerShot S100 Digital Elph camera. This amazing gadget, pictured below in front of a standard playing card, was a real joy. Released from the shackles of expensive film and developing, I was free to take more than 520 photos in 12 days. As soon as I took the photo, I could see whether it came out the way I wanted. If not, I could erase it and try again. No more cut-off heads. No more flash bouncing off glass. No more people walking in front of the camera. The camera is so small it could fit in whichever pocket was most convenient.

At the end of each day, I transferred my photos to my laptop, erased the memory card in the camera, and recharged the battery. With a 32MB card, the camera could hold 20, 52, or 192 photos depending on the resolution I chose. I usually used the middle resolution, which still produced outstanding photos. In order to save space, the files on this site appear at approximately half of their original sizes. The original high resolution photos, suitable for printing, are available upon request.

This camera has my enthusiastic recommendation, and you can buy it right now online!

Okay, that's it for now. Please keep in touch! Drop me a line and let me know if you like the photos.
