Restaurant Promotions

As a kick-off to the WaveAid 2010 campaign, we've partnered with some great restaurants in Alexandria. Our goal is to raise both funds and awareness in our community, and to build a wave of generosity to be felt by those in need.

All donations will be forwarded to AmeriCares, a leading aid organization distributing medicine and other relief supplies throughout the South Asia region.

Each contributor receives a handmade bracelet, which serves not only as a statement of support for the earthquake relief effort, but also as a ticket to a variety of generous discounts and specials offered by participating restaurants. The glass beads evoke the Haitian flag. The cord is made of cotton -- a major crop in Haiti, and reminds us that human life is both strong and fragile.

The suggested donation amount is $10, although many donors exceed that amount. All bracelet supplies have been donated by The Potomac Bead Co., so that 100% of contributions can be forwarded to AmeriCares.
